Product Introduction 
The Wire bar coater operates on the Mayer rod principle. A wire-wound rod is drawn across a substrate at a precisely controlled speed, metering the fluid and leaving behind a uniform wet film. This benchtop unit features a dual-rail ball-screw transmission system for exceptional linearity and speed stability. The Annimet Testing & Control System V1.0, accessed via a 5-inch touchscreen, allows users to set speed, stroke length, and other parameters. The base plate is available in mold steel (standard), glass, aluminum alloy, or marble to suit different substrates and formulations. This instrument transforms manual coating into a standardized, digitized workflow, greatly enhancing repeatability and data reliability in the lab.

1. What are the advantages of wire bar coating compared to doctor blade or slot-die coating?
Wire bar coating is simple, fast, and cost-effective, making it ideal for small-batch wet film preparation in the lab. It works excellently for low- to medium-viscosity fluids like inks and paints. For higher precision or high-viscosity slurries, doctor blade or slot-die modules can be selected as options.

2. How do I choose between the standard version (1-2000 mm/min) and the high-speed version (1-200 mm/s)?
The standard version covers a broad range and suits most research needs. The high-speed version reaches up to 12000 mm/min, designed to mimic high-speed industrial processes such as gravure or flexo coating, and is recommended when process simulation is critical.

3. The wire bar accuracy is marked as <1 μm. Does this guarantee the final wet film thickness error?
The bar accuracy refers to the manufacturing tolerance of the wire bar itself. The actual wet film uniformity also depends on slurry viscosity, particle size, flow behavior, and wet-to-dry shrinkage. The machine provides the highest baseline precision, which must be combined with optimized formulation and parameter settings for best results.

4. How should I select the base plate material?
Mold steel (standard), quenched and mirror-polished, offers the highest flatness for most applications. Glass is suitable when optical transparency or special surface chemistry is needed. Aluminum alloy is lightweight, and marble provides excellent thermal stability and vibration damping. Choose based on specific requirements.

5. Can the coater integrate heating or drying?
The standard configuration relies on natural curing without an integrated heater. After coating, the substrate with wet film can be removed and transferred to an external oven or hot plate. For integrated in-line heating or UV curing, customized solutions are available upon request.

6. Is it easy to change wire bars? Does recalibration be needed after?
Extremely easy. The wire bars feature a quick-change design; simply loosen the fixing screws to swap. Recalibration is generally not required after a bar change, but it is good practice to run a blank cycle and perform a trial coating to confirm thickness.
