Product Introduction
This ODF computerized coating tester adopts a flatbed design and is equipped with the Annimet Testing Control System V1.0, with all operations set via a touchscreen. Coating is performed by an adjustable blade in a direct-push mode. The blade is connected to the base in a split-type design with a 2-in-1 multifunctional connector, and its thickness is digitally adjusted with a display accuracy of 0.001 mm, covering the full range of 10 to 3000 μm, with other thicknesses available on request. The specimen is held by mechanical clamps, with an optional vacuum adsorption system suitable for copper foil, aluminum foil, plastic sheets, glass, and other substrates that cannot be laid flat independently. The vacuum platform is made of quenched and mirror-ground mold steel, with adsorption hole diameters of 1.0 mm or 0.8 mm, paired with an external water-circulation vacuum pump. For drying, an optional upper infrared heating module combines infrared and hot air at 800 W, with a settable temperature range from room temperature to 100°C and uniformity of ±2.5°C. The machine measures 450×350×350 mm, operates on 220V/50Hz with a main power of 180W, and fits easily on a laboratory bench.

Product Encyclopedia
Orally dissolving film (ODF) is a novel drug delivery vehicle that dissolves rapidly in the oral cavity, offering advantages such as ease of administration, no need for water, fast onset, and accurate dosing. It is widely used in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and functional foods. The core of ODF production lies in uniformly coating a polymer film solution containing active ingredients into a wet film of defined thickness, then removing the solvent by drying to form a thin film with uniform thickness and good flexibility. The viscosity, solid content, coating thickness, and drying temperature profile of the film solution directly affect film quality and the distribution uniformity of active ingredients. Laboratory flatbed coating testers reproduce the complete coating and drying process on a single substrate through precision blade metering, a stable drive system, and a controllable heating and drying module, enabling researchers to complete formulation screening and process parameter optimization with minimal material. Platform flatness and blade straightness are key equipment indicators, but actual coating accuracy is also affected by coating viscosity, particle diameter, flow leveling, and the wet-to-dry film formation ratio. Therefore, process development requires a comprehensive evaluation of the match between equipment performance and material characteristics. The ODF coating tester is an important process validation tool connecting laboratory formulation research with industrial production.
