Product Introduction 
The paper water absorption tester operates on the Klemm capillary rise principle. A standard-sized strip specimen (250×15 mm) is suspended vertically with its lower end immersed in water. Under standard temperature conditions, water rises along the specimen through capillary action. After a specified time (typically 10 minutes), the height reached by the water on the specimen is read from the graduated scale, expressed as capillary rise height in mm/10min. The instrument can test 10 specimens simultaneously with 5 graduated scales having 1 mm graduation, within a measuring range of 0-200 mm. This method intuitively characterizes the liquid absorption properties of unsized paper and paperboard.

FAQ 
1. What types of paper are suitable for this instrument?
It is primarily used for unsized paper and paperboard. It is not suitable for paper and board with capillary rise less than 5 mm in 10 minutes, nor for sized papers.

2. Why is a minimum capillary rise of 5mm in 10 minutes specified?
If the capillary rise is less than 5 mm in 10 minutes, the material has extremely low absorbency, and the sensitivity of the Klemm method is insufficient, leading to relatively large reading errors. Alternative methods should be used to evaluate absorbency in such cases.

3. How are test results read and recorded?
At the end of the specified test time (typically 10 minutes), read the highest point reached by the liquid on each specimen directly from the graduated scale, with reading accuracy to 1 mm. Take the average of multiple specimens as the test result.

4. Can different types of paper samples be tested simultaneously?
